Trapped
When The Donner Party reach Little Sandy River in July 20, 1846, they faced a decision of choosing two routes. They've have heard a man named Lansford Hasting. He made a guide for those who was migrating to the West. He guaranteed a "shortcut" or a "better route" passes through Wasatch Range across the Great Short Lake Desert. Alot of other immigrants chose the original route but the Donner Party was convinced with Hasting's route so they went left. But, they didn't know the route added about 100 miles so they got delayed couple of weeks when the rest of the emigrants of the year 1846 already made it to California. Eventually they reached to Sierra in early October. While they were reach near the Truckee Lake around October 1846, early heavy snow fall blocked the path. They got stuck there for months, due to lack of resources they faced desperate result of cannibalism.
